Vintage looks and Timeless Charm

Let’s take a U- turn to the time when Beatles were an obsession, Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison – Gods, when peace became the new language, when swaying hips to the music of Elton John and Disco became a rage.

It’s time to do a little sneaking around your mom’s old wardrobe, because this year’s spring/summer collection is all about the swinging 60’s and the foot tapping 70’s. The runway glowed with the 70’s sophisticated glamour and the bohemian look. The silhouettes of the 1950s and 1960s made a strong return, with shapes that accentuated curves and fostered femininity. Mint seemed to be the colour of choice with Alexander Wang, At Oscar de la Renta, Alberta Ferretti & Marni showcasing its tints and shades on the runway. The audience dwelled into a fruity concoction made by Miuccia Prada and Stella McCartney with their citrus and banana prints.

With jumpsuits, bell bottoms and wide legged pants, back in vogue transform yourself into one of the carefree souls of the 60’s. Mimic your mom’s sophisticated look with tail hem dresses and girls with an affinity to white, spring is your season. Team up your striped tops and t-shirts with a pair of Capri pants for the casual college girl look.

This season's accessories come with a playful edge - costume hats (cowgirl, toreador or sailor), oversized sunnies and belts of every possible kind, put fun into fashion. Scarves are the most versatile accessory to carry this season. Shoes look sturdy and practical with wedges and kitten heels. Exaggerated shaped sunglasses that scream out 50’s/60’s glamour add a retro feel and completes the look.

The sheer variety laid out, brings back the charm of the 60’s/70’s. So stop thinking and start snooping!!!
